How to Delete Your Fanvue Account

Step-by-step guide to deleting your Fanvue account, including what happens to your data and the difference between pausing and permanent deletion.

5 min read

Whether you are done using Fanvue or just want to take a break, this guide explains exactly how to delete your account, what happens to your data when you do, and whether pausing might be a better option than permanent deletion.

How to Delete a Subscriber Account

If you are a subscriber (not a creator) and want to delete your Fanvue account, follow these steps:

  1. Cancel active subscriptions -- Before deleting your account, cancel all active creator subscriptions. Go to Settings, then Subscriptions, and cancel each one individually. This prevents any future charges. See our subscription cancellation guide for details
  2. Go to Account Settings -- Log in to Fanvue and navigate to your account settings page
  3. Find the Delete Account option -- Scroll to the bottom of the settings page. Look for "Delete Account" or "Close Account" in the account management section
  4. Confirm deletion -- Fanvue will ask you to confirm your decision. You may need to re-enter your password as a security measure
  5. Check your email -- Fanvue may send a confirmation email. Click the link to finalize the deletion

How to Delete a Creator Account

Deleting a creator account involves additional steps because of the financial and content implications:

  1. Withdraw your earnings -- Request a final payout for any remaining balance in your account. Fanvue processes payouts on a regular schedule, so make sure your funds have cleared before proceeding
  2. Notify your subscribers -- As a courtesy, consider posting an announcement letting subscribers know you are leaving. This gives them time to save any messages or content they want to keep
  3. Cancel or let subscriptions expire -- Your active subscribers will not be charged again once you delete your account, but it is better to communicate this proactively
  4. Remove content -- While account deletion should remove your content, some creators prefer to manually delete their posts before closing the account for extra peace of mind
  5. Request account deletion -- Follow the same settings path as subscriber accounts. Creator account deletions may require manual review by the Fanvue team

What Happens When You Delete Your Account

Understanding what deletion means for your data is important:

For Subscribers

  • Profile data -- Your display name, profile photo, and bio are removed
  • Message history -- Your messages with creators are deleted from your side, though creators may retain copies in their inbox
  • Subscription history -- Your subscription and payment records are retained for legal and financial compliance but are no longer visible to you
  • Purchased content -- Access to all purchased PPV content and subscribed creator feeds is permanently lost

For Creators

  • All uploaded content -- Photos, videos, and posts are removed from the platform
  • Subscriber list -- Your subscriber relationships are terminated
  • Earnings history -- Fanvue retains financial records for tax and legal purposes, but your dashboard access is removed
  • Verification data -- Identity documents are handled according to Fanvue's data retention policy and applicable privacy regulations

Pausing vs Deleting: Which Should You Choose?

Before deleting your account permanently, consider whether pausing might be a better fit for your situation.

When to Pause

  • You need a break but might come back later
  • You are a creator who wants to retain your subscriber base
  • You want to keep your content and profile intact
  • You are unsure about permanently losing access to purchased content

When to Delete

  • You are certain you will not return to the platform
  • You want all your data removed for privacy reasons
  • You no longer want any association with the platform
  • You have had a security concern and want a clean break

Pausing your account (if available) keeps your profile and data intact but hides it from other users. You can reactivate at any time without losing your content, subscribers, or history. This is usually the better option if there is any chance you will want to use Fanvue again in the future.

Data Privacy Considerations

Under GDPR and other privacy regulations, you have the right to request complete deletion of your personal data. If you want to ensure Fanvue has removed all your data, you can submit a formal data deletion request (also called a "right to be forgotten" request) through their support channels or privacy settings.

Keep in mind that Fanvue is legally required to retain certain financial records (transaction history, tax-related data) even after account deletion. This is standard across all financial platforms and does not mean your personal content is being retained.

Before You Go
